Data feeds

Green: reported on schedule. Amber: delayed. Red: down. Grey: switched off on purpose, or not started yet. The footer of every page sums these up as "all feeds live", "some feeds live" or "all feeds delayed".

A feed reports in at the end of every cycle, and every retailer runs on its own schedule: some hourly, some twice a day. Each feed is judged against its own. Green means it ran on time and brought something back. Amber means one of two things, and the line above says which: it's running late, or it ran on time and came back with nothing. Red means either the lateness or the empty cycles have gone on long enough that something is genuinely wrong. Grey means that retailer isn't currently being collected, which is a setting, not a fault. A feed that is merely late doesn't lose anything: prices from that retailer are older than usual until it catches up. A feed that keeps coming back empty does lose something: shelf prices are only there on the day we look, so those days don't come back. That's why the reason says how many cycles in a row it has been, and whether we were refused rather than finding an empty aisle. This page reads the same health data our own alerting does, so it can't tell you a rosier story than we're telling ourselves.
